Welcome from the Head

NURSERY OPEN EVENING
TUESDAY 29 MAY, 6-7PM

I am proud to introduce our school to you. There is real joy in leading a school as strong as ours. We deliver consistently high academic results, and this is why many parents choose us, but these results come from the values that we hold dear.

Visitors to Shrewsbury High are always impressed by the palpable sense of community. Our school is both warm and sharp: the friendly and caring environment is obvious the moment you walk through the door. However there is an edge that comes from the desire to perform.

Shrewsbury High Prep School has a wonderful setting at Kingsland Grange, with thirteen acres of grounds, the prep has a warm and friendly nature that endears it to all who visit. With a distinctive character, we offer a real choice for parents in the county looking for the best education for their children.

Once again, this year I presented my Senior School Speech Day report as a video.

Shrewsbury High is part of the Girls' Day School Trust, the UK's largest educational charity, and the largest single educator of girls  in the UK. This gives us enormous experience in educating girls, and brings benefits to our pupils from the shared expertise of over 4,000 staff.

In 2009 we were inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate, and I am truly pleased with the results, we are outstanding in many areas. You can download a full copy of the report at the foot of this page.

This website gives you many facts and figures about the school, and some idea of what it's like being here; when you click on the "What's it like?" link above you will go to our media library, where there are videos, slideshows and music. However, to feel the vitality of the school you need to pay us a visit. I think you will agree there is much to admire here.
